When I'm accelerating and I put the gas all the way to the floor it gets stuck and I have to slap it into neutral to get it to come out of gear and stop.

Are you sure the pedal is not getting stuck on the floor mats? I had a hard time understanding the last part of the statement. What do you do to release the pedal?

Yes I checked that the mat wasn't catching it, but when it gets fully depressed it stays that way even if I take my foot off, so to get it to stop I put the car into neutral, and the engine revs for a second then the pedal comes back and its fine again, I've noticed that its only happened when its cold so far but I'm afraid for it to do that especially given the area I live in which gets cold often and has hazardous conditions.

Hi R0gu3,

Without starting the vehicle, does it happen?

There are 2 possibilities that I can think of
1. A bad throttle cable. It is sticking due to inefficient lubrications or due to the weather.
2. The pedal liknakges needs some lubrication.

I think its a combination of lubrication and weather, it hadn't been driven in a long time and its never seen cold temperatures
and its only happened while it was snowing
