I have a 2000 honda civic 4cyl. The car overheats when sitting in traffic, despite changing the water pump, radiator, and thermostat. When the care overheats I have to turn on the heater so it will not totally over heat. The radiator has the correct amount and mixture of antifreeze. What could be causing this problem? It would really be great if I could get some help. Thanks

Hi there,

Is the cooling fan coming on, when the temp rises the fan should come on automatically. Check if it is and report back.

If all the items you listed are working as they should, you really have only three more options.

1. A/C condenser fins blocked restricting air flow,
2. Failed water pump, (no circulation)
3. Head gasket problem, Any coolant loss?
