1999 Honda Civic engine looses power while driving

My engine looses power while driving up and down hills.
All the lights on the dash comes on and then it shuts off, I have too wait a few mins. Then it will start back. Tell me what you think is wrong withe car, PLEASE HELP ME.

Hi bjwil32,

Does the engine check come on during driving?

When engine stalls during up or downhill travel, it could be the map sensor not registering accurately.

Dislodged surge plates in the fuel tank will cause fuel supply to be intermittently cut if the fuel level is low. Try driveing with a full fuel tank and see if it does not happen then the tank should be the source.

If it is inteermittent failure of the main EFI relay, then it should occur even on level roads.
