how do I know when my ball joints or wheel bearings are bad?

Hi chunks121,

You would need to use a pry bar to test the ball joint for free play to know if they are bad.

Bad wheel bearings would emit a coarse noise while driving and taking curves would enhance the noise depending on which side.
