1995 Honda Civic engine dies will driving during hot condit

I had my distributor changed about 3 months ago (3k miles), plus timing belt and tuned up. While driving the engine just shuts off. I wait a few minutes and then it runs fine for about 5 minutes then shuts off like the key was turned off. I do get a check engine lite but turns over no problem. Its really bad when its really hot 90 plus. Any suggestions?

Hi thetechnician,

You need a scan to find out what is indicated by the CEL.

As to the engine stalling, I would suggest checking the main relay. If CEL does not go off when ignition switch is turned on and difficult to start, the ECM might be faulty.
