I pulled the distubiter out now I can not get it back in and get it to start

The distributor shaft only goes in one way and can not be confused. Line up the shaft with the slot on the camshaft and you will note the offset of the slot. You will need to get the #1 plug wire on the correct terminal of the distributor.
