1994 Honda Civic my car revs when I step on the gas but doe

I left my house earlier today an got about a mile away and when I went to accelerate the car revved but didnt move. I pulled over an shut the car off, waited a few minutes, started it again an put it in gear and it moved. I got up the street and it did it again. And when it did move it was moving slowly, also because I didnt want to hammer the gas and do any further damage. To sum it up. My car revs but doesnt move. SOME1 PLEASE HELP!

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

A serious case of slipping transmission, as you have drive the pump & converter are working so I would first be checking the trans oil for level & condition, if it is dark and smells burnt there is a serious problem with in the trans, this should be referred to a trans specialist so that they can do a full diagnosis on this problem, the more you drive it the worse the problem may become get this done ASAP.
