1992 Honda Civic take off

Why do I have such a slow take off? If I am on a ramp getting on the highway it takes forever to bulid up power!

Are the rpm's going up without the engine actually moving? (Slipping)

Or do you find that you just lack power?

If so, check to see if you need a tune-up, if not check timing and compression.
