Vapor coming out of AC vents

I have noticed in the past week or so that vapor is coming out of the air vents when I turn the AC on. The AC seems to be cooling the air (although perhaps not as efficiently), and the problem comes and goes as I turn off and on the AC.
Is this serious? Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

When the air is on and the car sits for a bit, does water drip to the ground? If not or very little, check the drain for the A/C. Much like the house air it needs to drain the water it removes from the air. Those drains can plug and cause water to sit.
