Help me PLEASE

I have a 1985 honda accord with around 220000miles on it. Recently the coolant has been backing up into the reserve tank. What is causing this to happen? At the same time the car is running really rough as if it wants to seize on me and is emmitting a lot of white colored smoke. What is causing this? Are the problems related?

Yes they are related. The pressure in the system is more than it should be because the car's compression is leaking in to the cooling system. You have a head gasket that is leaking or failing. You need to have the head removed, checked for warpage and cracks and then a new head gasket installed. That should take care of both.
