2003 Honda Accord shift release knob

Hi mgreenspan,

When problem occurs, check if the brake lights are coming on. If not, the brake switch is faulty and not working the interlock circuit.

If the brake lights are working, listen for a clicking noise below gear shift when brakes are applied with ignition ON. If no noise is heard, the solenoid is stuck not allowing the shift knob to be depressed to shift out of PARK.
