Front suspension clunk

When going over bumps I hear a clunking noise from the front suspension. What is the likely cause and how do I check and verify which component needs replacing. I may be able to do the work myself if standard tools are needed. I am sure a front alignment will be needed afterwards.

Clucking can be the struts or sway bar links here is a guide to help you test to see which one it is please let us know.

I had this problem it was the struts cost me $140.00 for new ones installed them myself :)
