Rear brake sensor activated. Mechanic says front pads need replacing

Rear brake sensor activated. Mechanic says front pads need replacing. This after 58,000 (front) and 25,000 (rear) miles. Used Honda pads last repair. Brake pedal is not sound right?

Hello,

This vehicle does not have an electrical brake wear indicator. It does however have the brake warning light for the parking brakes.
That brake light can get activated due to having low brake fluid, faulty master cylinder, issue with the brake proportioning valve.

So having worn front pads will not trigger the light.

A good first step would be to inspect the pads for wear. Also, if the ABS light is illuminated, have it scanned for codes. As that can help with the diagnostics.
