I am wondering about the RPM in my car, when I am going about 60-70 in my accord, the rpm hovers around 2600 to 2700 rpms. Is this normal for an accord, the transmission was just recently repaired at well, 2001 accord with 4sp at transmission? I am just wondering if this is ok or should I have this looked at?

Hi there. I drive a 2002 Accord 4-Cyl w/ about 95K miles. From what you are telling me that is perfectly in line with where the RPMs should be at those speeds. I can't tell you 100% exactly, since I dont USUALLY pay attention to that. But at highway speeds I do know that the RPMs are in the 2500+ range easy.

I think thats just how it goes for a 4-cyl engine. Its just the way its geared so it can actually accelerate when you need to pass etc.

Don't worry. Your car is fine.
