2001 Honda Accord 54,000 miles

My check engine light came on. The manual suggested checking my gas cap, if I recently purchased gas. I checked it and it was loose. I tighten the cap and the light is still on. Any suggestions or should I take it to the dealer? If that is the case what is an approximate cost to have the car repaired.

Go to autozone and they will scan it for codes for free. I cannot tell you whats wrong if I do not know what the code is.
