My 2000 accord starts and idles fine when cold but when hot, it idles rough and sends a check engine code 7. When it cools down, it starts and idles fine. I have also noticed a very rough shifting of atf at cold temp, after a mile or two it shifts fine. Could it be the Throttle position sensor?

Hi Bobnbrendaj,

If the MIL is indicating and retrieved code is 7, then it definitely is a fault with the TPS.

Was it adjusted or tampered with prior to this occurring?

Hav you tried adjusting the TPS?

No, I have not tried adjusting it. Where is it located? On a Honda 2000 Accord is it adjustable? If I could find it I could check wires leading into it etc, but I can't find it.
Thanks So much, Bob

TPS is located on throttle body and if it is faulty, throttle body has to be replaced as assembly.

Adjustment is possible but TPS is held by torx bolts.
