1999 Honda Accord Sticking in park

1999 Honda Accord 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 1999 Honda Accord, which I am VERY happy with. Recently it has been sticking in park, at 1st you could just press down on the brake pedal and it would pop right out. Now it is getting tougher and tougher sometimes having to turn the car off and on to get it to finally come out of park. When it finnally works it just pops out it's not like you have to force it or anything like that. What/where should I start to look?

Hi 1Tallguy,

The interlock is not functioning well and you need to check if the brake switch is working properly.

When it does not work, check if the brake lights are on when pedal is depressed.
