1999 Honda Accord LX. 93500 miles. I just bought the car. The front windows roll up and down fine. The back windows dont. The driver side rear window, the first time I got in the car, rolled down but wouldnt roll back up, we had to pull it up manually. The passenger side rear window, rolled down and up once, then not again. Now both of the rear windows, I have to pull up by hand, and they will just start to fall down at anytime.

Hi cafoley82,

Both the window regulators are failty. They are cable driven and most probably the pulley at the top has given way. You need to replace the assy.

Thank You! I was hoping that wasnt the answer. That part is like $145. And I myself have never had any luck replacing window parts. I tried on my cavilier one time, needless to say that was a disaster. Im pretty good with doing most repairs on my own vehicle but I might have to pass on that one. Thank You!

If you can hear the motors working then I would condem the reguators.
Really they're pretty simple to replace on these cars. The hardest part is getting the door panel off. From there just a few more small bolts (all with 10mm heads) holding the regulator to the door and a couple attaching the regulator to the window.
