1998 Honda Accord expansion valve or pressure switch

My AC blows very cold for a while then starts getting warm. If the car sits a while ans is restarted it is cold again. Ive been told its the expansion valve or the pressure switch by two different mechanics. Id rather the component that is failing and not ahve to do two separate repairs.

Hi raslenny,

There are many possible causes for the symptoms described.

1. What are the low and high pressure readings? When it I cooling and when it is not.
2. Are the cooling fans working?
3. When it is not cooling, is the compressor engaging?
