The engine occassionally stutters under acceleration at low rpm, regaining normal operation by about 2,000 rpm. I recently popped a P0304 (#4 cylinder misfire). I popped that same code in Feb 2007, and replaced the spark plugs, cap, and rotor, and checked the resistance on the wires. Any ideas?

I have the same problem. '98 Accord 183,000 miles. When accelerating at 2000 rpm it sort of sputters for a couple of seconds. Especially when going up a hill or a bridge, when the RPMs have dropped down to 2000. Any ideas?

Hi Stretchlimo, dtroen

This should be a problem with the EGR valve which is installed on the 4th cylinder manifold.

The EGR valve operates at between 1800 to 2500 rpm.

However the valve might not be the source, it could be the solenoid, TPS or ignition timing causing it to function erractically.
