To all,

I"ve tried to get my Honda Dealer and local mechanic to respond to this, but their attitude is "tow it in when it finally breaks, and we'll fix it".

Here's what happens: My Accord EX will be going down the road at speed, then "poof". It just dies. RPMs go to zero. All power steering, etc. Is gone. I coast to the side of the road, give it 5 minutes, then I can restart and drive off. It will not restart right away. But, I can go a few miles, then it does it again.

My concern is that this is getting dangerous. And, no mechanics around here are willing to spend any time on it.

It might be my imagination, but I swear it happens on warm days, and not on cold ones.

Can anyone provide an estimated "best guess" on this problem? I'm at a point where I'm ready to try something. I'm worried about (finally) getting stranded somewhere.

Also - based on your best guess - what will this cost to fix?

Thanks so much for your advice.

Hi there,

Try starting the engine and off it repeatedly for about 10 times and if in between should the engine fails to start, then it most probably should be the fuel pump relay fault. Hondas tends to have this problem.
