1997 Honda Accord 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

I have a 97 Honda Accord with power windows / locks. One day after many months of my driver's side window going slower & slower on it's climb back up, it just decided that it wouldn't roll up any more. It rolled down just fine, and I never noticed any vibrations or weird noises. It was half way down at that point, and eventually it got rolled all the way down. In the past I had noticed it had gotten off track and was trying to roll up outside the beading on the outside of the window, I was able to get it back on track and it improved for a while. Then this happened & after a particularly rainy drive home, I took it to a shop and they rolled the window back up. They said it worked just fine when they applied power directly to the wiring. So that told me I needed a new master switch assembly. I purchased the new master switch assembly online. Got the new switch, pulled the old one (man was it dirty!), Installed the new one, plugged all the wires back in, put the door panel back on, turned the car on, pressed the button to roll it down and nothing. The driver's side window won't budge. No sounds, nothing, just the clicking of the new switch. It did fix my problem of not being able to roll up the back passenger window from the master switch. But I really needed the drivers side window to operate so I can get the car inspected. I checked all the fuses, wire connections and the relay must be good otherwise none of the other windows would work. Since the motor worked before and hasn't been used in over 6 months I'm guessing the motor is still fine. So this is my stop before going back to that shop & seeing if they can remember what the hell they did to my window to keep it from rolling down

Hi mariah. Anger,

Each window works on their own circuit so it could be a power source problem. The PW fuses are in the underhood fuse box.

To test if the motor is in good condition, remove the door panel and appply battery voltage to the motor after disconnecting it and if motor works, it is ok.

If you have a tes lamp, it would be easier to test if it is a wiring problem.
