1997 Honda Accord Car is making a loud revving noise and sm

Just a few days ago I noticed my car has been especially loud when accelerating. It sounds as though it is a racecar and makes a loud revving noise. I also noticed that the car smells like gasoline when I first start it. I was thinking maybe something with the exhaust but am not sure. Any thoughts?

Hi harrisons2037,

Noise are never easy to understand and detect online so I am not sure if I understand your problem correctly.

If the noise is loud as if a race car, the most likely cause would be a leaking exhaust system and this would result in presence of gas smells as well.
