1997 Honda Accord

My 97 Honda accord 2.2LTR non V-Tech is accelerateing eratically.

When it is in park, it will accelerate from 1000 RPM to 3000 RPM, constantly up and down while in gear.

When driving at a speed of 45 Mph, it will accelerate from 1500 RPM to 2000 RPM constantly up and down while in gear.

Also on RARE occasions if you brake slowley over long distances the car can stop at a traffic light and idile at 1000 RPM or 1100 RPM while in gear.

Also on RARE occasions the car will be up speed at around 45 Mph, and will idile normal at around about 2000 RPM. While it is in gear.

Whether it is cold or at operating tempature.

I have replaced the EGR and also the Idile Air Control Valve.

Where should I go from here?

Hi killacole,

Does the Check Engine Light shows while driving under any conditions?

Do you have coolant losses or overheating problems?

Other things to check :
1. PCV valve.
2. Vacumn leakages, check for cracked hoses.
3. Check for clogged coolabt hoses to and from the IAC.
