1996 Honda Accord Temperature High

During Traffic (Stop and Go) the temperature is getting high almost to red zone in the gage, but if travelling in highway, It never go up the temperature and always normal. What is the cause on this.

Your thermostat is probably a little weak, I would replace it, and always make sure your coolant is full. On the other hand your engine coolant temperature sensor could be faulty, but replace the thermostat first, that may clear it up, if not then go with the sensor. Then let me know how it does
