1995 Honda Accord Oil Light

1995 Honda Accord 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 195K miles

My oil light has started to come on indicating low oil pressure. I have checked and the oil level is sufficient (it does leak a little). When the oil light comes on, I can turn the motor off and immedietly restart. The oil light will go off. It may not come on again for several days. I can then follow the same sequence and I am off and running again.

What could cause this? Is the oil pump screen clogged? Dirty filter?

For a start get the oil pressure check -if normal replace the oil pressure sending unit. Not normal could mean a sloppy oil pump/engine bearings/sludge problem-pick-up screen/filter/oil galleries.
