We replaced the thermostat in my car and it started overheating. We found out that you had to release the air out of the lines so we did that. Now it is not overheating but I am leaking antifreeze from the driver's side right beside the front tire, and I am also leaking oil from underneath the front of the motor. Everyone is telling me that I need to replace the timing belt and the water pump, but why am I leaking oil?

The oil could be coming from anywhere. You have to investigate where it's coming from.

With regards to the coolant, have a pressure test done. This will help pinpoint the leak.
