1995 Honda Accord Check Engine Light/D4 Flashing/Speedomete

Daughter was driving car out of town other day when she noticed erratic speed indication followed by the "D4" indicator flashing regardless of shifter location. A short time later (15-20 minutes) later, she noticed the check engine displayed on her cluster. I was in front of her in my vehicle during the above events. When I checked the vehicle and drove it, it had no issues with the driveability other than those issues so we all continued to our vacation which was 180 miles from home and we were 40 miles from our destination. Just curious as to what the problem(s) might be and if they are all related to one thing? By the way, the speedometer is no longer functional, the "D4" indicator still flashes when you start driving the vehicle, and the check engine light did not reappear during our return trip today. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That is the PCM telling you it has recorded a problem with the transmission (flashing D4) The check engine light may be due to the fact that the circuit that has th eproblem may affect the engie as well. A scan of the PCM should give a code to help with figuring out what is wrong
