Hi JeffWB,

Is the ECM showing and DTC?
How do you know the VTEC is not functioning?

I have it wired according to diagrams (4 diagrams all say same thing). I am driving 2nd gear up throttle about 3/4 or half way and no pull or increase of power at 4400 RPM. Up till redline. My old motor was not vtec however felt a lot stronger then this one. Old Motor could hit my top speed limiter (115mph) with potential to go further this one barely can get up to 100mph. I am thinking of replacing V-tec selenoid and pressure switch as I am not sure how to check if they are working. To check the selenoid they say just to look inside it and see if its clean which all looks good. And for pressure switch to make sure the diaphram in it moves easy which passed that also. So I am kinda a a loss of what to do next. Also sorry not sure what you are meaning by DTC. Is that a trouble code cause I have a Check engine light.

DTC = Diagnostic Trouble Code.

Bridge the SCS connector and read the blinking of the CEL to get the DTC. Let me know what you find.

K I will give that a shot and let you know. I the mean time maybe you could confirm for me I have looked on a website, a chilton's book and a haynes book and all say V-tec selenoid is pinout A4 while pressure switch is D6. But on my existing harness D6 pinout has a wire in it and not quite sure were it goes all diagrams tell me if its not vtec there is no wire there. So little confused wire is RD/BLK looked up the wire according to color and I says it runs to tranny control unit but my car and existing harness is for a Manual Not Automatic. I have a mechanic friend who uses allDATA at his shop his diagram says same thing he said best bet would be to tap into the wire and see if vtec kicks if not take it back off. Little confusing

Hello again I have found the first trouble code sensor came unplugged fixed it. The other code I have figured out is a code 22 which according to a site I found online is faulty or bad Oil Pressure Switch a.K.A. Vtec pressure switch. So I am looking in at replacing have to special order on saturday should be here monday or tuesday will inform you if problem is solved or persists. Thank you so much for your help I love this site already. Thank you again.

You are welcomed and thank you for the compliments. Enjoy your stay here.

You mentioned D6 as having Red/Black wire, guess you have read the terminal wrongly. That should be D11, wire for the TPS. See diagram for terminal identification.

Code 22 is the VTEC switch circuit, did you test the switch terminals for continuity? It could be a wiring fault instead of the switch fault.
