I have changed many starters before on vehicles where the starter is located underneath, but on my 1992 Accord, it is mounted on the left side of the engine.

It looks pretty tight in there.

Any tips to be aware of when replacing this? Is this something a Honda newbie could do?

Yes, you can DIY. First you will need to disconnect the battery negative terminal, then the starter solenoid wire and the 12mm bolt that holds the 12 volt cable from the starter. There is a 14mm bolt on top and a 17mm bolt on the back bottom of the starter. The 17mm bolt could be very tight so you will need a 1/2 inch breaker bar to get loose.

The bottom bolt is 4.5 inches long (that is equal to 114.3 mm).
