Transmission shift light D4 light stays on

There are 2 possibilities for the symptoms described.

1. Clogged strainer in transmission or insufficient trans fluid.

2. Faulty Transmission Control Module.

Does the D4 ( or S mode if equipped) indicator light blinks when problem ocurs?

Yes the S light has been blinking for sometime. As a matter of fact it never blinked until I had some work done and the moter was removed, and after this the light started to blink and the issue with the tranny.
