I m going to get a used transmission from the junk yard. How can I know the transmission it s good? And what can I check?

Really hard to test the transmission if you cant drive it to see if the transmission shift like it should. All you can really do is look at the fluid and see the condition and smell. Other then that your all luck of the draw.

I went to the junk yard today it was hard to find 96 honda accord transmission my question is does other years honda accord could fit. I m thinking to put transmission for 97 honda accord in my 96 will it work?
