When D4 indicator light on the dash stay on at start up the gears do not shift automatically, but if the D4 light don't stay on but go out after starting the gears shifts well. Sometimes it blinks and the car still drives OK, but when I stop and re-start the light stay on and I have no shifting. What could be the problem?

Hello aethoautorepairs

Replacing the AT Control Unit can solve this problem
The control unit is mounted in the lower left side of the dashboard, next to the steering column.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. If so equipped, disable the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS).

2. Remove the left lower dash panel or knee bolster.

3. Unplug the connector from the control unit.

4. Remove the bolts securing the bracket, then remove the assembly from the vehicle.

5. Installation is the reverse of removal. If applicable, be sure to enable the SRS.
