When I have to stop for a light, a stop sign, or slow way down in heavy bumper to bumper traffic, my car starts shaking and then cuts off. I put it back in park and restart the car and go. What could be causing this problem?

I'm new to LA and don't have money for expensive repairs. Help!

Hi PGA,

Hopefully it is not an expensive repair.

Is the idling rpm very low? Less than 600? If it is, then the throttle body needs a cleaning up. You can do the job yourself if you are DIY inclined.

If there is any jerks while idling, then you need to have a look at the spark plugs and cables.

Good luck.
