When I try to start the engine, it cranks and cranks but never turns over. I know that the battery is fine. What are some easy things I could try at first to rectify the problem? Thank you.

Test for fuel and spark. You might be missing one of these items.

Thanks for your quick response! Much appreciated.A couple of follow up questions.

1) The car has been sitting unused for several months and the fuel gauge reads at about 1/4 tank (so this fuel is pretty old). About how many gallons of fresh fuel should I need to add in order to adequately "freshen" all the fuel in the tank?

2) An acquaintance heard the sound my engine was making when attempting to start and recommended taking the air filter off and spraying some STP starter fluid in there, then trying to start it again. Does this sound like a good idea?

Thank you so much for your help.
