My van has high idle when starting up the van. But the coil pack is new and had to put new coil connector plug in and with wires. Speedometer and tachometer reading does not work and I have to hit the dashboard to get it all working again. Some say PCM relay or computer itself. I did new spark plugs and wires and all is replaced. I am going to try new EGR valve TMW. Hope it solves all. I did have a code before for a mass air flow sensor but not now. Any thoughts about fuses or anything? EGR valve replaced still rpm too high over like 2,000. No check engine light. New camshaft sensor and new crankshaft sensor. Idle air control sensor or valve?

Hello there, it sounds like you may have a bad intake manifold gasket. You can check for vacuum leaks before replacing anymore parts. Here is a guide about vacuum leaks, but instead of spraying carburetor cleaner to find a leak, try a bottle of water, it is safer and you will hear the engine sucking in water wherever the leak is.

I did have a intake manifold gasket replaced about four or five years ago. Did not have any problems since. Intake manifold gasket will have a check engine light on. Last time I had a check engine light was two codes. It was P0113 and PO122. Intake air temperature sensor bad or leaks. Bought the intake air temperature sensor but I do not know where it goes, it does not go anywhere near the air filter. Mass air flow sensor is inside it. Does the intake air temperature sensor goes near the manifold on the right back near the EGRvalve? So maybe it is the intake air temperature sensor or loose connection.

Also, when I unplug the mass air flow sensor connector while the idle rpm is very high at the start, engine shuts off immediately.

Bad mass air flow sensor because the intake air temperature sensor is bad and it is part of the MAF sensor.

Did the MAF solve the problem? I have seen the IAC and a dirty throttle bore cause this issue. Here are two guides to help us get the problem fixed:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/throttle-actuator-service

and

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-replace-an-idle-speed-control-motor-iac

Please run down these guides and report back.

Cheers, Ken
