I have the vehicle listed above with a 1.3 diesel engine. It has high fuel consumption but runs normally. The mechanic said it might be the fuel pump, but can I drive with it? I have to get home and drive 600km the engine light is on.

Poor fuel economy can be caused by many things but since the check engine light is on, we should start there first. Here is a guide to help you get the trouble codes which you can report back so we can go from there on to what is going to fix the problem.

Please go over this guide and report back.

If there are no abnormal noises I would guess that you will be okay.
