After I put 87 octane gas in my car, I had lost power of acceleration on highway. Then my car just shut off once I restarted it and it started to overheat. I check reservoir it is still full, but my car does not start and when trying to start it again it makes a clicking noise. Can you tell me what could be the problem?

Sounds like you have multiple problems and you will need to take in to a shop for proper diagnosis. As for the clicking sound, sounds to me like the starter has failed.

Hello DAVAUGH,

It does sound like the starter or battery is having problems but you may have overheated it to where the engine is seized up. Did the engine boil over or just run hot? For the engine low power problem check out this guide:

Please let us know what you find so it will help others.

Best, Ken

Is your check engine light flashing while accelerating? If it is then you have a bad misfire. Have it scanned for codes and do a compression check on that cylinder especially if any of the plugs were wet with fuel when you removed them.

The more I think about it I would say you might have a blown head gasket that would explain the misfire and over heating, here is a guide to help you.
