I installed a new A/C actuator hoping this would correct my
air flow with heat and cold. The instructions you gave me on
how to install the actuator was great. I noticed you advised to
hand turn a knob that would move the doors and I cannot turn
this knob, or I think I am trying to he right knob. When I
installed the new ACDelco actuator it worked for a small
time, but now I have nothing but cold air that flows only
from the flow vent, and I have the heat control set at 85 degrees. I am an amateur and appreciate your help.

Hey Floyd,

Yep if you cannot turn the knob that is a problem, the actuator is only so strong and will fail in a short time if the blend door cannot be moved easily, take it apart and see if the door is still hard to move, if so the plenum will need to com apart, this is a big job, let me know if you want to try it and I will send you more information on how to do it.

Best, Ken

I'm sorry I haven't responded sooner. My A/C
problem with my '97 and '98 Cadillacs has finally
been solved by a great mechanic who works for
a Cadillac dealership in Temple, TX.

My problem wasn't the blend door as suggested
by many; rather is was an electrical failure in solenoid
ASM. This vacuum solenoid was replaced last
month (July 2017) and I haven't had a problem yet.

You are an A-OK man, along with 1A Auto parts.

Thanks for your help and God bless.
