When I turn my headlights on the motor loses power and the cruise control stops working?

If I let off the gas and then give it gas again it runs fine, but the cruise control will not start back unless I turn the headlights off.

It sounds like the alternator is weak on recharging the system but to be sure here is a guide to help and I have included how to change the alternator out in the images below.

With the engine running and the headlights on, let's check the voltage at the battery. Here is a guide that will help, the voltage should be about 13.5 volts:
