My car is front wheel drive.
Was hearing a grinding noise at first thought wheel bearings checker removed wheels not wheel bearings the noise I hear is coming from where the CV shaft goes into transmission. Everything is working fine all gears noise there in all gears does not seem to skip at all just loud grinding type noise like rubbing to wet stones together.
Also no leaks around the area. Car has 185, 000 km's. Regular oils changes every four thousand km's no engine light in regard to the noise. Thanks

Hello,

This sounds like you have a carrier bearing that is out inside the transmission. The transmission will need to be taken apart and new bearing installed.

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers, Ken
