To begin telling my issue with my car I would have to to tell you what I did that began the issue I am having. My car is lowered. I have coil overs in the front and cut springs in the back. I ran over a parking block and it made the worst noise. I got stuck going forward and backed out. At the time I smelled a terrible burning smell. Smelled like a burnt clutch. I continued with my day and the car was fine. The next day I noticed it was very hard to go into gears I kept driving to the point it did not want to go into gears period. I took it to family friend that works on cars. He said I needed a new clutch and my master slave cylinder went out. All the repairs have been made but I am having an issue with my first gear. Not all the time but maybe every few stops I feel the gear nob jump going into first and I hear a grinding noise. I do not know if maybe it was not bled right or the clutch was not adjusted properly. Or maybe one of the synchros went out or I just need more fluid?

Good afternoon.

It sounds like you have an issue with the transmission from the hit. It does sound like a syncro in the transmission.

Have the fluid changed and see if there is any metal in the fluid or on the end of the drain plug.

The drain plug has a magnet on the end to catch metal from the fluid.

Thank you for your response! So is it worth to to take it to a another mechanic? And if so how much is it roughly gonna cost? The car is my daily, is there a way I can drive it without extending further damage?

The same mechanic can check it. He did not do anything wrong.

You have to be careful with shifting. The grinding is not good. Try putting it in first before coming to a stop.

Over time, it can do more damage. Just do not wait too long to get it checked.
