Noises problem
2001 GMC Yukon V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

My yukon xl proguces a verry loud squealing sound. This is extremly embarrasing since it can be heard from pretty far away.I have tried sprays but they do not work verry long. I have also had the belt replaced a couple of times but this only solves the problem for a few months. I also have brought it to the repair shop but the squeal returns after a few weeks. I dont know if the tensioner has ever been replaced but it seems to have plenty of tension on it so I do not think that is the problem. The belt appears to have a glaze on it so I was planning on cleaning the pullys and replacing the belt again. If that is not the problem the only other reason I can think of would be a bad bearing causing the belt to slip but I would think that would be verry noticable. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated

If you have changed the belt and not the tensioner, then have the belt tensioin checked. It's bprobably the tensioner isn't holding the belt tight enough. But you culd have an alternator bearing going ad as well as they sqyeal when they go bad.
