What is meant by "banks" on dtc codes. Does this have to do with what side of the engine? If so what side is bank one on? Bank two?

Banks refer to your o2 sensors.

Sensor one referes to the sensor before the catalytic converter on the exhaust manifold.

Sensor two refers to the sensor after the catalytic converter, and is used to monitor the catalytic converter.

Bank 1 refers to the side of the engine with the #1 spark cylinder.

And bank 2 refers to the opposite side.
