I have a 1995 Suburban, 217,000 miles, 5.7 liter. It has very little when taking off. I replaced the plugs, plug wires, dist. Cap, rotor and checked the timing. In drive with the brake on, it has all kinds of power, with no hesitation. When I take it for a test drive, it will start off ok for about 2 seconds, then just completely lack power until you get up to speed and then it's ok. I'm baffled. Please help!

Thanks Guys!

Here's where a vacuum guage comes in handy. Check wha tyou have, if you have only about 15" at idle then I would suspect a blocked exaust system, either at the down pipe(one that connects to manifolds) or the converter. An easy way to check is disconnect the converter and drive it.
