My pickup suddenly died while driving. All headlights, guages and the flashers continued working. Is it the fuel pump? If so, could it simply be "stuck"? No sound is coming from the pump. Is there a way that I can try to "unstick" it without pulling the fuel tank?

Check if there's power on the gray wire on the fuel pump connector

Is that connector at the top of the fuel tank where the pump assembly is? My manual doesn't show much except how to yank the whole wad and replace it.

Yes it is-unplug it and check for power on the gray wire-you only have a few secs to check before the fuel pump relay de-energize.
