Shifting erratically - vehicle speed sensor?

Replaced 2 solenoids still shifting erratically and randomly never when taken to repair shop what other sensor could cause this? Help?

This vehicle speed sensor would be the most likely cause of this. It is not uncommon and the way to confirm this is the issue is to use a scan tool and monitor the speed from the sensor.

The fact that the speed sensor is on the tailshaft of the transmission or transfer case, it will be very close to vehicle speed. Clearly this is different if the tires are larger or smaller then stock. So we can monitor the vehicle speed using this sensor and if it is jumping around or not moving up and down steady then this is the issue.

Also, we need to check for codes as there could be a couple pointing to the sensor which will help with this.
