Electrical problem
1996 GMC Sierra 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

My truck died going down the road the other day. When I got pulkled over there was a buzzing noise coming from steering colum or possibly dash. If key was on accessory or turned on the noise stopped but continued even without key out of ignition.I left the key on for a few mins to stop the noise, then the normal"key in ignition" ding happened and truck fired right up. This has since happened four times but wont start at all now. Buzzing noise still present. Have plenty of battery. When I try to start it absolutely no noise or response. Thanks

I'm not sure about the buzzing? It may just be a warning that the key is in the ignition? If the starter won't crank, check the starter circuits at the stater relay. Make sure the tranny is in neutral and a functional e-brake is set. A9 at the relay is hot all the time. B9 goes hot with key in the crank position and that circuit is wired through the clutch switch. Check voltage on those circuits.
