Air Conditioning problem
1999 GMC Safari 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 65000 miles

My air conditioning works good, except when I go up a long hill it shuts off. It comes on again when going back down hill. I check everywhere for a vacuum leak, as the controls are vacuum operated. The vac. Accumulator does not have a leak. My wife is driving me nuts because of this. Please help. Stan

The vacuum feed lines on those are famous for cracking, be sure that isnt thecase here. If all good, you can try a vacuum check valve to keep the engine from draining the vent system or even a small vacuum resevoir if you van doesnt have one
