The starter in our 1997 safari gmc clicks when we turn it over what could be the problem?

Battery is it good and also cleaned and tighten properly. Try this have helper hold key at start position and bang on the starter-if it kicks over-replace the starter. Nothing happens could be the crank fuse, ignition switch, starter enable relay, and starter itself-
